About

Greg Rico has worked in public education for 32 years. As a certified public school counselor, Greg has helped students successfully select the appropriate high school curriculum to study and navigate college admissions for more than 25 years. In his college admission tenure of advising students, he has toured a widespread number of college campuses across the country and internationally, gaining a personal perspective of the culture and climate of college campuses and top educational majors. Recognizing his experience, colleges have invited Greg to serve on their Counselor Advisory Boards, including the University of Alabama and Texas Tech University. He has been named a distinguished counselor by Texas A&M and Colorado State University.

Professional associations are paramount to providing students with current resources and contacts. Greg has served as the Secretary and Co-Treasurer of the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) and has been a long-time member. Greg has served as a delegate to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Greg has served as chair and committee member for the NACAC National College Fair Dallas since it began. He has extensive experience as a presenter of professional development for college admissions. Additionally, Greg is a member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.

Greg has been a counselor at Highland Park, Dallas, for 25 years. Prior to counseling, Greg served as a special education teacher at Highland Park High School and ACT/SAT preparation instructor privately and at Yavneh Academy, Dallas. Greg enjoys fostering students’ confidence as they navigate their high school years and the college admissions process.
